High-level Overview Presentation
Scenario
Look back at the three previous assignments, Network Access Control, the Cost of
Inadequate Controls, and Access Control Strategy Approach. Reflect on the work that
you and your IT Security team did for LOTR. In these first three assignments, upper
management and the Board of Directors for LOTR asked you to review and repair
various access control issues. They have now asked that you create a presentation that
will review all the changes that you have implemented to improve access control
security. For this final presentation, they have asked for a high-level overview of the
procedures you implemented to improve Network Access Control and the newly
mapped access controls. They also want you to create a security checklist that can be
used to conduct annual access control audits. Finally, they have asked you to make
recommendations for three websites that include security RSS feeds to keep the
company abreast of possible future security issues and exploits.
Instructions

HSA 525 Week 10 Discussion Board

HSA 525 Week 10 Discussion Board

One of the hot topics in many healthcare organizations today is revenue cycle management. We typically do not get paid when services are rendered nor do we get the full cost of providing that care. As a result we incur costs for facilities, supplies, and labor that have to be covered. The ultimate goal of revenue cycle management is to convert services into the correct amount of cash reimbursement. This can be a bit difficult for medical practices. One reason is that providers often forget it is a business. Getting providers more involved in this process is the focus of this week's discussion question.

https://hwacer.com/Tutorial/hsa-525-week-10-discussion-board/

Discuss why it is important for the practice physicians to be involved in revenue cycle management. What role do you see them having in this process? What message does it send to staff? Do you think it will compromise patient care? What would say to a provider who shows some resistance to being a part of the process?

CIS 560 Assessing Discussion Forum Access Controls

CIS 560 Assessing Discussion Forum Access Controls

Assessing Discussion Forum Access Controls

Overview

Objective: The goal of this exercise is to evaluate the process of joining a discussion forum group to analyze their "access controls."

Note: Do not use your primary, personal email address to sign up for the forum you select for this exercise. It is a good idea to have a secondary email address that can be used for this type of testing. Finally, please make sure that your virus and malware protection is up to date before you start this exercise.

Resources

The tools required to complete this exercise are an Internet browser and a search engine of your choice.

  • Suggested browsers: Chrome, IE, and Firefox.
  • Suggested search engines: Yahoo, Bing, Google, and Duckduckgo.

Instructions

Please read all the instructions prior to starting this exercise.

  • Using your favorite search engine, type in one of the following search requests:
    • Forum best video card.
    • Forum parenting tips.
    • Forum best hikes.
  • Alternatively, you can choose something in which you are very interested and on which you might want some additional insights. Once you have located an acceptable forum, please go to the folder or "thread," where other users are discussing your selected topic. Make sure you are on a forum that asks you to "join" or "register" before you can create new posts or respond to posts created by other users.
  • Pay close attention to the forum's registration process. The steps that follow will help you chronicle your experience of gaining access to the forum. Note:You will be required to take screenshots for several of the following steps.
  • Create a Word document. In the document, briefly state the topic you selected for your search and why you selected that topic. Then, provide the exact Web address of the forum where you registered to post.
  • Briefly describe the forum as well as the types of discussions or questions being asked by the other users.
  • Take screenshots of the verification process and paste the screenshots into your document. Did it have a CAPTCHA? Did it require two-factor identification? Do not proceed if you are not comfortable with sharing the information the site is asking you to provide. If this occurs, please select another topic or forum.

Locate the End User License Agreement (EULA) on your selected forum and paste it in the document. This is the legal document to which you are agreeing when you join. You can read it in all cases, and in some cases, you can also download it. In either case, make sure you include it with your submission

“....It seems to me that God, with infinite wisdom and skill, is training the Anglo-Saxon race for an hour sure to come in the world’s future. Heretofore there has always been in the history of the world a comparatively unoccupied land westward, into which the crowded countries of the East have poured their surplus populations. But the widening waves of migration, which millenniums ago rolled east and west from the valley of the Euphrates, meet to-day on our Pacific coast. There are no more new worlds… The time is coming when the pressure of population on the means of subsistence will be felt here as it is now felt in Europe and Asia. Then will the world enter upon a new stage of its history—the final competition of races, for which the Anglo-Saxon is being schooled. Long before the thousand millions are here, the might centrifugal tendency, inherent in this stock and strengthened in the United States, will assert itself. Then this race of unequaled energy, with all the majesty of numbers and the might of wealth behind it—the representative, let us hope, of the largest liberty, the purest Christianity, the highest civilization—having developed peculiarly aggressive traits calculated to impress its institutions upon mankind, will spread itself over the earth.”

Read the excerpt from a memoir written by Allan Pinkerton about the Great Railway Strike of 1877.

"For this reason the strike of '77 was a complete failure. Although in many instances riotous excesses were not committed, the attempt of which they were all guilty—to prevent the movement of trains—made their strike as truly a riotous proceeding as the pillage, arson, and murder of Pittsburgh could have made it. By this act the strikers placed themselves in an attitude of defiance to all law and to society, and as surely arrayed law, order, and society against them. Had they won, it would have been a triumph of anarchy; and anarchy is a something impossible to exist. No community can exist save under law and order; and no riotous strike is possible of success short of revolution; while revolution itself is a failure, unless it brings to a people a still purer law and a more secure order."

I am for the 'immediate, unconditional, and universal' enfranchisement of the black man, in every State in the Union. [Loud applause.] Without this, his liberty is a mockery; without this, you might as well almost retain the old name of slavery for his condition; for in fact, if he is not the slave of the individual master, he is the slave of society, and holds his liberty as a privilege, not as a right. He is at the mercy of the mob, and has no means of protecting himself."

Which question would be most relevant for analyzing this historical speech?

CIS 515 WEEK 10 CASE STUDY

CIS 515 WEEK 10 CASE STUDY

Overview

Read the following articles and incorporate them into your paper. You are encouraged to review additional articles as well.

Instructions

Write a 2–3 page paper in which you:

  • Recommend at least three specific tasks that could be performed to improve the quality of data sets using the software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology. Include a thorough description of each activity per each phase.
  • Recommend the actions that should be performed to optimize record selections and to improve database performance from a quantitative data quality assessment.
  • Suggest three maintenance plans and three activities that could be performed to improve data quality.
  • Suggest methods that would be efficient for planning proactive concurrency control methods and lock granularities. Assess how your selected method can be used to minimize the database security risks that may occur within a multiuser environment.
  • Analyze how the method can be used to plan out the system effectively and ensure that the number of transactions does not produce record-level locking while the database is in operation.
  • Go to the Strayer Library to find at least three quality resources in this assignment.

This course requires the use of Strayer Writing Standards. For assistance and information, please refer to the Strayer Writing Standards link in the left-hand menu of your course. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.

The specific course learning outcome associated with this assignment is:

  • Recommend strategies to minimize security risk and improve database performance.

Project Deliverable 6 Final Project Plan

Overview

This assignment consists of four sections: a written project plan, a revised business requirements document, a project plan PowerPoint presentation, and the finalized project plan. You must submit the four sections as separate files for the completion of this assignment. Label each file name according to the section of the assignment it is written for. Additionally, you may create and/or assume all necessary assumptions needed for the completion of this assignment.

While taking all business and project parameters into consideration, make quality assumptions to support the following requirements.

Instructions

Section 1: Written Project Plan

You are now in the final stage of the project plan development. All previous documentation should be combined into one document that will serve as the statement of work for the project. Your goal is to have the project approved by the executive team. The project plan should be very detailed, which is appropriate to accomplish the monumental task of implementation; however, the executive team is only interested in a 30-minute summation. Therefore, you also must create a compelling executive summary that is supported by your detail that convinces the executive team that it should move forward with your solution.

Develop a 30–40 page project plan in which you:

  1. Write a 5–10 page executive summary in which you provide a high-level technical overview of your project where you address the following:
    1. Describe the scope of the project and control measures.
    2. Describe the goals and objectives of the project.
    3. Give a detailed, realistically estimated cost analysis of the entire project, including technical resources (human capital) that may be needed to complete the project.
    4. Relate the value of the project plan solution to the competitive advantage that information technology will afford the organization.
    5. Provide all aspects of the information technology implementation into the project plan.
    6. Recommend solution providers who can assist with development and implementation. Include a cost analysis of at least three providers.
  2. Combine all previous documentation for Project Deliverables 1–5 in which you:
    1. Provide all aspects of the information technology implementation into the project plan.
    2. Revise the documentation based on feedback from the earlier evaluation of the deliverable.
  3. Use at least five quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar Websites do not qualify as quality resources.

This course requires the use of Strayer Writing Standards. For assistance and information, please refer to the Strayer Writing Standards link in the left-hand menu of your course. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.

Section 2: Revised Business Requirements Document

Document all revisions made to the written project plan in the Document Control section of the business requirements document from Project Deliverable 2: Business Requirements. Note: This documentation must outline the revisions made to the previous deliverables required in Section 1: Written Project Plan.

Section 3: Project Plan PowerPoint Presentation

Additional to your detailed executive summary, you must present your findings to the executive team and the venture capital group; that, along with the executive summary, will convince the group that your solution is optimal.

Create a 10–15 slide PowerPoint presentation in which you:

  1. Illustrate the concepts from the executive summary in Section 1 of this assignment.
  2. Create bulleted speaking notes for your presentation to the executive board in the Notes section of the PowerPoint. Note: You may create or assume any fictitious names, data, or scenarios that have not been established in this assignment for a realistic flow of communication.
  3. Use a professional technically written style to graphically convey the information.
Section 4: Finalized Project Plan

Use Microsoft project to:

  1. Finalize your project plan from Project Deliverable 5: Network Infrastructure and Security to include all necessary changes in assumptions, tasks, and subtasks.

The specific course learning outcome associated with this assignment is:

  • Develop a comprehensive project plan proposal.

The mix of debt and equity financing used by an organization is called its capital structure. Many managers struggle with finding a balance between these two options. It is a critical decision as it impacts the organization's assets, liabilities, and bottom line.

You are the business office manager for Hope and Healing General Hospital. The radiology department is considering purchasing a new, high-tech diagnostic machine. It has a high resolution and has resulted in more accurate diagnoses. The machine costs $200,000 dollars. The three options for financing are obtaining a bank loan with interest (debt) for the entire purchase price, buying it outright with no debt, or using venture capitalists (equity). You have been asked to prepare a memorandum for the hospital's executive director with your recommendation.

https://hwacer.com/Tutorial/hsa-525-week-9-discussion-board/

In your memorandum, start out by reminding the executive director what debt and equity financing are. You will then comment on the pros and cons of each method. Also note which option you feel is the safest and which is the least safe option. Be sure to state why.

Instructions:

  1. Your initial post must include your memorandum.
