CT 7001 Week 3 Assignment

CT 7001 Week 3 Assignment

Week 3 - Assignment: Explain Collaborative Approaches to Inquiry
For this task, imagine that your school building has created a building-wide goal that all teachers will find one question or topic that they would like to learn more about in their classrooms this year, and will then work through an inquiry process specific to their identified questions. However, teachers will need support from others in the process to help them examine the data collected and analyze what they find.
The principal or administrator has asked you to create a presentation for the staff highlighting collaborative approaches that could be used by grade level teams during the structured collaboration time. This structured time will support each teacher as they follow their inquiry process. You will frame your presentation using one selected passion area and topic.

Include the following components in your presentation:
  • Provide a brief introduction to the eight passions discussed in Chapter 2.
  • Review the passion area and topic you will work on during the school year.
  • Choose several collaborative techniques from the course texts and from your own readings that support the inquiry structure.
  • Summarize each technique and offer examples to demonstrate how it could be used.
  • Present the collaborative technique you plan to use, and then explain why you feel it is best suited for your passion area and topic.
  • Include a building-wide plan that address when the collaboration will occur, the time staff will have to collaborate, and how the teachers will hold each other accountable.
There are many options for presentation software. Use what you feel is most appropriate to your targeted audience. Presentation tools can be Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides (http://www.google.com/slides/about/, Prezi (http://prezi.com/ ), and PowToon (http://www.powtoon.com/ ).
Length: 12-15 slides/scenes, not including title and reference slides
Notes Length: 200-350 words for each slide
References: Minimum of five scholarly resources.
If your presentation is audio based and there are no slide notes, include a document that includes all of your speaking points and content. Tip: Think of the presentation as something you were physically presenting to a group. The notes section of the slides provides the detail and depth to what words you place on the slide. The notes can be viewed as the exact script you will use when the presentation is given to your staff. Your instructor will review the notes while the work is being graded.
Your presentation should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your presentation should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards.
