BUS 335 Week 7 Discussion
When we explore the concept of internal recruiting, we are really examining opportunities for current employees to progress up or laterally within the organization. From the organization's perspective, selecting current employees to fill new requirements allows the organization to get a known performer quickly into a critical position. When we examine internal recruiting, we also must consider the effect of this staffing action on employee retention.
- Discuss how employee mobility differs fromtraditional upward mobility in organizations with alternative mobility paths (Exhibit 6.2).
- How would you describe mobility and career progression in your current or former employment (Exhibits 6.1 and 6.2)?
- In your own words, briefly describe how mobility effects employee retention/turnover.
