Instructions
In Weeks 9 and 10, there are many tips about how to Talk Like Ted and create amazing presentations. Here’s your opportunity to practice. For Assignment 3, you will create your own Practice Mini TED Talk, or presentation. It will be a short video (4-6 minutes in length) about a subject you’re passionate about. You have two options: you can either talk about yourself (as in an extended elevator pitch), or present the Practice Thought Leadership Exercise that you created in Week 7. Before you begin, you should outline the content of your presentation. Use the following format:
Three Main Points with Three Supporting Points for each:
- Main Point 1 a. Supporting Point 1 b. Supporting Point 2 c. Supporting Point 3
- Main Point 2 a. Supporting Point 1 b. Supporting Point 2 c. Supporting Point 3

Conclusion or Call to Action (what action do you want your audience to take after watching your presentation?)
Remember all that we’ve discussed in terms of grabbing your audience’s attention. Think about what you’re passionate about, and what makes your heart sing. Create empathy and use supporting statistics and stories. Pay attention to your pace, body language and tone. Be sure to Wow and use “Moments that Matter”. Relax and be yourself and you won’t go wrong. Remember that this is just practice so there is nothing to stress about.
