CT 7001 Week 5 Assignment

Week 5 - Assignment: Create a Data Collection Presentation
For this task, create a presentation and professional development activity to share with your colleagues that articulates the responsibility of each teacher-inquirer when they collect data and what the various forms of data provide. The presentation should include the following components:
  • Research your school’s or district’s practice of student data collection to guide professional practice. What are the guidelines? What might be considered unethical? How might you avoid any unethical practices?
  • Compare and contrast formative and summative data collection and analysis. How are they similar and how are they different?
  • Include a professional development activity that helps teachers in the classroom think about the inquiry they have planned, and how they could best collect the data to ensure it is ethical and useful. The activity should be designed to engage teachers in thoughtful reflection and dialogue.
